K. L. Smith Agency LLC was started in 1953 by Kenneth L. Smith. In 1956, Royden Smith, Ken's brother, purchased the agency and transformed it from a part-time business to a full-time operation. He increased the number of clients substantially over the years and was proud to provide insurance products to the community. In 1978 Roy's son Todd started working at the agency. In 1980 his other son Garth came aboard. Todd and Garth now operate the agency on Roy's philosophy: provide our clients with the best insurance products and personal service at the best price.

Todd is a second-generation owner in charge of the personal insurance lines with over 45 years of insurance experience.
- B.A. degree in economics from Eastern Connecticut State University
- Licensed agent for property/casualty, life and health
- Served in the Connecticut Army National Guard for 25 years and retired in October 2003 at the rank of Command Sergeant Major
Garth C. Smith
Garth is a second-generation owner in charge of the commercial insurance lines with over 40 years of insurance experience.
